Getting to Know You

Learn more about the bridesmaids!

Sarah Rees: Matron of Honor, mother of baby Rees, and lover of all things Disney.

Cara and Sarah became friends in high school when Cara needed help hiding in a locker. No one else would come to her aid, so Sarah obliged, and from then on they were fast friends, and engaged in many tomfooleries, hijinks, and even a number of shenanigans over the years. Sarah wishes the best for the married couple, and knows that they will have a happy life together because she has done extensive scientific research on the pair and determined that the names Cara and Andy, when combined, create the word Candy, which is totally awesome, just like them.

Cassie Williams: Bridesmaid, mother of Hannah, and beautician to the stars.

Some of my favorite memories with Wickey (Cara) are: running amok, skipping school, collecting ORANGE things, listening to Alanis Morissette and Cake, and sitting to talk about the gaps in between our visits. There isn't a story Wickey has told me that doesn't make me smile, gasp or laugh. The fun times we've had and adventures we've found are ones I am very fond of. Years of friendship with many more to follow!
Little known fact: Wickey Leigh~Cassie Lei~Hannah Lee. We all have the same awesome middle name but they are all spelled different!!! We rock!!!

April Cannon: Bridesmaid, recent college graduate, and future Stars Hollow resident.

From our lovely singlehood together, I most remember random craft nights and crying to each other over loser boyfriends. I am in awe of what you have made of your life and now that Andrew is going to be part of it, I can only see rainbows, sunshine and perhaps even some unicorns in your future. Passed are the days of house parties in Seattle where you talked to everyone and anyone. Passed are the McMenamins days and the lovely polo shirts. To come are the days of filling your house with new wedding presents, thank you cards and maybe even a vacation or two.

My EPICNESS is currently taking a break but maybe a quote will just sum it up better: "I will never be the woman with the perfect hair, who can wear white and not spill on it." -Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Amy Kwok: Bridesmaid, world traveler, and MAC makeup stock holder.

I just want to say... you're the only girl friend I have that I feel comfortable being silly with and joking about the stupidest thing with at any time of the day. It could be from the time when we went to Ross at Southcenter with you popping up to a stranger going "HEY BABY!" to the time we were in Belgium with you being a total flirt with all the Belgian waiters who were dying to give you kisses and I HAVE PICS TO PROVE.

More about the groomsmen later!

Less than 3 weeks!

Oh my, feels like it is so soon, and at the same time it feels like it is taking forever to get here! Can't wait to see everyone that I haven't seen in awhile; it's going to be a great time. The reception is going to have good beer, a live band, and is pretty much going to be a big ol' party! Then after party at the Big Foot Inn!!! Ok, maybe not the Big Foot, but probably somewhere. See everyone soon! I love you Cara!

Sesame Chicken Salad

Here's the recipe for the main dish we had the bridal shower - Sesame Chicken Salad. I think I'll be making this quite soon!

Sesame Chicken Salad
1 16oz. pkg of spaghetti
3T soy sauce
3T sesame oil
1T rice vinegar
1T sugar
1t hot chili oil
2T vegetable oil
3 baked and cubed chicken breasts
1c cashews
1/2 c green onions
1/2 c red pepper
1/4c sesame seeds, roasted
Cook spaghetti, drain and chill. Mix dressing ingredients; pour over pasta and chill for 3 hours. Add the chicken, cashews, onions, peppers and sesame seeds. Gets better with age!

21 days!

We're only 3 weeks out from the big day. OMG! Andy is sick with a stomach bug (most likely the same thing I had last weekend), so we've been chilling indoors all day watching No Reservations, Pineapple Express (not good), Good Eats, and the Mariners/Rangers game (we won!). I've been trying my best to keep him properly hydrated and fed, even if he's not feeling up to it. I've just recently put him to bed, even though he'd fallen asleep an hour before. Other than that, my Grandma Peterson recently passed away on 7/18/09, and we had a wonderful memorial service for her this last week. It was great to visit with family in town; especially those who won't be in attendance for the wedding. My grandparents' old pastor even flew in from Idaho to meet with the family and officiate the service. What a treat! My Grandmother was such an amazing woman! It'll be hard to not have her with us physically at the wedding, but I know she will be their in spirit.

Working backwards yet again, my bridal shower was last Saturday, which was fantastic! Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time, and it was again, a great place to connect and reconnect with those I don't get to see as often as I'd like. My Aunt Sue hosted the luncheon, planned a few great games, and made some wonderful food! We scored some awesome gifts and a little cash for the honeymoon as well. Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure!
